College of Business Education

The College of Business Education offers holistic business education to enable its students to be competent and be actively involved in business world, particularly in the fields of Entrepreneurship, Management, Marketing and Finance towards the creation of a just, sustainable, participatory and prosperous society.


History

1954

To answer the needs of the business sectors, the school offered a Two-Year Associate in Commercial Science (ACS) and was granted Government Recognition No. 596, s. 1955.

1955

One-Year Collegiate in Secretarial Science (CSS) was offered with Government Recognition No. 196, S. 1956.

1956

Third and Fourth Year of the Collegiate Commercial Course majors in Business Management, Administration and Finance leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Commerce was offered under Temporary Permit No. 82, s. 1956 on April 24, 1956.

1957

The Bachelor of Science in Commerce major in Banking & Finance was offered. Government Recognition No. 475, s. 1957 for the Bachelor of Science in Commerce was granted on August 21, 1957.

1968

The Two-Year Associate in Secretarial Science (ASS) was offered under the College of Commerce.

1973

Sister Josephine Beltran, CFIC was  the Dean of Commerce.

1974

The CFICSisters left the school and lay administrators took over with Dr. Arnold C. Collado as the first lay Dean of Commerce & Secretarial department.

1975

Permit was granted to operate the Two-year General Clerical Course (GCC).

1978

The Two-year Junior Secretarial Course (JSC) was offered.

1984

Amelia Mapagu was appointed Dean.

1985

Four Year Bachelor of Science in Secretarial Administration (BSSA) was granted Government Recognition No. 007, s. 1985.

1987

Dr. Francisca C. Espejo was appointed OIC-Dean.

1989

Dr. Aurora V. Adaya was appointed Dean.

1991

Bachelor of Science in Secretarial Administration (BSSA) was phased-out.

1993

The Two-Year Medical Secretarial Course (MSC) was opened with Temporary Permit No. 496, s. 1993 and was granted Government Recognition No. 013, s. 1994.

The Two-Year Computer Secretarial Course (CSC) was granted permission to operate under Temporary Permit No. 016, s. 1993

1994

Mrs. Josephine Bravo, CPA was appointed Dean.

1995

The Secretarial department became independent from the College of Commerce as School of Secretarial Science with Dr. Salome S. Duco as the Principal.

1999

Bachelor of Science in Secretarial Administration was reopened. Mrs. Zenaida D. Ariola was appointed Dean from June to November 16, 1999. Mrs. Marilyn T. Sibal took over from November 16, 1999 to June 2001.

2000

The Bachelor of Science major in Management-Accounting was offered.

2001

College of Commerce was changed to College of Business Education under the Deanship of Dr. Salome S. Duco and Mrs. Marilyn T. Sibal was appointed Associate Dean of the College. The Bachelor of Science in Office Administration (BSOA) was under the College of Business Education.

2002

The Commerce program was granted Level I status by the PACUCOA on June 24, 2002.

2005

Level 2 status was granted to the Commerce program by the PACUCOA on January 10, 2005.

2006

The Bachelor of Science in Commerce was chan~ed to Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Marketing was offered.

The Bachelor of Science in Hotel & Restaurant Management (BSHRM) was granted to operate under the College of Business Education with Temporary Permit No. 047, s. 2006.

Mrs. Marilyn T. Sibal was appointed Dean and Mrs. Zenaida D. Ariola as Associate Dean of the College.


Objectives

In the context of integral evangelization, the Business Administration program envisions the integral development of students to become adequately equipped with relevant knowledge, practical skills and Christian values to help them meet the growing demands in the business industry and government service.

Specifically, after the course, the students are able to:
